Lake Nakuru National Park
Day 1
There’s a good chance you might see the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo) on your visit to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, which sits high on the Laikipia Plateau. The conservancy is a fantastic place to see all five species (although leopard can be elusive), and it’s one of the best places to see rhino anywhere in Kenya. Other wildlife highlights might include cheetah, hyena, giraffe, zebra and more. Over 500 bird species have been recorded here too. Ol Pejeta also offers the chance to see the last two surviving northern white rhino, as well as a sanctuary for rescued chimpanzees. The conservancy’s landscapes include savannah grasslands and riverine woodlands.
